God tells us to avoid following a scholar / preacher blindly. But what if I trust a scholar as he speaks based on the Quran and I am certain that he is not telling me to commit any major sin and his advice is easy for me to follow? I don’t want to do research and think which scolar is right or wrong, this is a lengthy and stressful process for me especially when I have OCD

When you have assessed the ability of a scholar and is satisfied with his scholarship and when You have no skill or time to asses every opinion of his, you may trust him in the opinions you did not verify. However when you feels that an opinion is not satisfactory, then you may investigate.
