    My q is

My sisters whenever they see something as innocent as a fly or even a ladybird or any small flying insect in our home they make a huge trouble. They scream out of fear and I can understand for a certain degree this fear but whenever they show this behaviour and they insist then my mother to kill these insects.

I have tried to stop my mother by telling her that it is haram to kill such creatures without any valid reason. This fear reason to me is not valid and any logical healthy individual will realize doing these insects harm without any danger is and should be forbidden.

Now I do get it if it’s a life endangering insect then one should take serious action.

But these are everyday home flies , sometimes moths and other flying small living things.

My mother and sisters don’t listen to my advice and that’s why I want to ask you scholars to give me a strong answer so they might listen.

I even tried to stop my mother from killing mice in cruel way by using lime. And she didn’t listened to it either.

At the end of the day these creatures are also trying to survive. And why would we kill them and in cruel way as well if there is no danger or any unhygienic reason.

    Please advice.

I know most people don’t care about such small matters but I’m sure God will bring everyone into account for even such small matters on day of judgement.

This is unfortunate that our people traditionally are not very much conscious about that animals sufferings. They inflict unnecessary punishment and torture to them. These are the creatures of God and not made to waste. They have their purpose of life. The Qur’an tells that they are communities just like us. See verse 6:38.

We can kill an insect or animal or a person in self defense, to save our lives. Unnecessary killing of insects and animals is a bad thing. Muslims should avoid it.
