Some islamophobe or exMuslims raised a question to weaken our faith that why u recite surah lahab in namaz in which u give lanaat or cursing a man. Instead in namaaz, it would be appropriate to recite verses praise or glory to allah, ask help dua from Allah etc.

There is no such rule that only those verses should be recited in prayer that glorify God.or about Dua. For Dua the last portion of the prayer is reserved. Qur’an is the book of Inzar. It tells the stories of the prophets and their opponents and tba how God cursed them for their arrogance and denial of the truth. This was the judgment God made in this world. This was done to show that God is going to hold everyone accountable on the day of judgement. When we recite these verses it reminds us that God is going to judge all people for deeds in the hereafter.

Moreover, the surah lahab doesn’t curse Abu lahab but tells what was going to happen to him.
