Using my understandings, knowledge, and beliefs, I am able to achieve all of the following at the same time.
    1. Treating my OCD and PTSD

    2. Not committing major sins

    3. Staying at ease in life

But a concern keeps bothering me. The concern is that I might be inventing things on my own, which I am not deliberately doing, I am just going with what helps me achieve all of the above and by chance it is possible I might be holding beliefs that aren’t perfectly valid but they are helping me achieve all of the above. I am also open for improvements while making sure the points 2 and 3 are not to bothered otherwise I will not be able to function in my life.

So, can I use my own thinking, ideas and understanding for the sake of treating my disease and avoiding difficulty? That “understanding” is not necessarily against God’s directives but it might be in some cases for which I am open for correction. Am I allowed to do this considering my situation and intentions?

You do not need permission from anyone to do what you want to do in this matter of belief and religion. To believe in God and religion is a conscious and rational decision. When major sins are not committed, there is nothing to worry about.
