    Asalamu Alaikum….

Ghamidhi Sb, kindly clarify your stand on the asbab-o-nazul of Qur’an whether it is kalam e lafzi or kalam e nafsi as scholars of Muturīdhī ashariya say it is kalam e nafsi while as Hanabila says it is kalam e lafzi.

These are two different questions. The traditions of Asbab e Nuzul are mostly not reliable. However, only those traditions are accepted which the word and context of Qur’an allow.

The Qur’an is the word of God. Its words and meaning both came from God.

How come ot is possible that it is of both genre. Are we then confining one state of Qur’an as mutawatir and another as direct speech.

Every kalam is first kalam nafsi then becomes kalaam lafzi. Qur’an is the word of God revealed for the prophet and he conveyed it his to his ummah in the mode of Tawatur.
