In Friendship, What Level Of Distancing Comes Under Severing Of Ties?
If I became friends with whom I felt bad a lot of times and wasn’t valued enough and becoming friends with them was a mistake, what level of distancing from them would become severing the ties with them?
If they message me, I’ll talk to them in a respectable manner but that’s about it. I will never message them first-hand as I am not interested in talking to them anymore, neither do I feel any inclination towards them. Is this severing of ties?

It is your choice. If one is allowed to divorce one’s spouse when the relationship doesn’t work, one may stop a friendship one it doesn’t work.

But in a video Ghamidi sir said there are ups and downs in a relationship but that doesn’t mean one should sever ties even if they are friends and doing so would be a major sin.

One should not divorce one’s wife, but it is allowed, so it is friendship.
