If there is polytheistic festival like janamashtmi ( festival to celebrate birth of false god Krishna)…so if mess owners prepare more delicious food on occasion of this festival as Hindus eat delicious food on that day…can Muslims eat that food…mess owner says it is not prasad..so can we eat that food…as per my knowledge it will be same as taking benifit from these kind of public holidays where we are not promoting the polytheistic aspect of festival.

I live in non muslim country in hostel if mess owners prepared delicious food instead of regular food timings like he serves 5 dishes instead of 3 because of festival like Diwali or janamashtmi…can I consume that food..mess owner explicitly say it is not prasad?

Like if there is Diwali and Hindu friend ordered pizzas from online..so pizzas are not prasad…can we consume that pizza?

He (Hindu friend)ordered pizza because that day is Diwali and he wants to eat something tasty.

Any food served in the name of a deity is haram, before ascribing it to a deity it is halal. So food of the mess in the given situation is halal but pizza in the given situation is not halal.

Isn’t both the scenario same? Mess owner prepared tasty food because it is Diwali..so is that food halal?

Please take in mind I live in non muslim country where majority are Hindus…mess owners prepare delicious food on these festivals…where festivals are polytheistic…so as we enjoy public holiday of these polytheistic festivals by not promoting any polytheistic beliefs…can we eat that food… delicious food is served on these festivals instead of regular food for which we have paid money.. delicious food means more number of food items..and mess owner explicitly stated it is not prasad.

The shariah directives stay the same whether you live in a Muslim country or a non Muslim country. The food items prepared by the food sellers are for customers whether they take it for a polytheistic purpose or otherwise, as I got it. If your purchase it it is halal and if someone purchases it for a polytheistic purpose and then gives you then it is not halal. The pizza in this case is purchased for a polytheistic purpose therefore it is not halal.

If the festival is cultural one not polytheistic then it food distributed in it is halal.

You can see it is halal because it is not purchased for a polytheistic purpose.
