    Asalamualaikum.

I wanted to ask what should be a believer’s behaviour to non-acceptance of supplications? I am asking for my self here, sometimes, I feel solace in thinking that if my supplications are not being accepted, it is a sign that there are better things Allah have stored for me in the future, but on other days, I couldn’t help but think if this is a punishment imposed on me for my incessant sins? I pray and also strive to rectify my acts and steer away from sins, but occasionally fall for it again, this has gone to the point where me asking for forgiveness after such sins, seems merely a lip service. Please guide on what should be the proper and expected reaction or behaviour from a believer here? Should he think it as a trial, a punishment or a harbinger for better things to come.

A Muslim is supposed to avoid major sins. If he does so, his minor sins will be forgiven. A Muslim does not judge God, because he can’t. The best he should do is to follow His directives and be grateful to Him for his uncountable blessings. God loves a person when he prays to him for His needs and desires. We believe that God is our benefactor and whatever He decides for us is the best. If we receive the same thing we prayed for, that is good, if we do not receive the same, it is the sill good. Our God knows the best.
