An argument that is used by many people is that using one’s intellect or reasoning was the way of Satan when he refused to bow to Prophet Adam. If Muslims start questioning the commandments of God, and it leads us to stray away from the majority of Islam’s follower, do we not become followers of Satan himself.

Using intellect to understand God’s commands is required by God. Quran exhorts its followers to understand the Quran.

    كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ آيَاتِهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ

God, in this manner, explains His revelations to you in order that you may understand۔ (2: 242)

Satan questioned to refuse the commandment of God, and Muslims question to learn the wisdom of God. Both are different. However, if one questions to refuse the commandment of God, then this is wrong.
