  • Offering All Prayers At Night Instead Of Day

Posted by Amin Ansar on January 8, 2025 at 8:01 am

I have a stress disorder and it always brings me back into sleeping at day and staying awake at night. I feel really guilty for not being able to get up during the day time to offer prayer which worsens my condition.

The solution I have come up with is that while I try to fix this problem, can I offer all the obligatory prayers at night instead? So, instead of offering fajar at 6am, I offer it at 6pm. After all prayer is about remembrance of God when I am awake which is essentially what I am doing. All the prayers at the same time of 12 hour clock but the “am” is replaced with “pm” and vice versa. Is there a proof that goes against this? Once I recover, I will start offering the prayer during the day instead. Thanks for the help

According to Quran, the prayers have been fixed on their time and should be prayed as such (See Quran 4:103) .

However, we have relaxations where we have options to combine, Qasar or pray salah as soon as we get a chance. Please refer to the following thread which details all the relaxation available in this regard:

Please also note that when it comes to rituals, not only their reality (spirit/maqsad/objective) is required but their form is also required. We cannot change the form of a ritual or its framwork based on the objective only, because these rituals and their forms have been prescribed by the Almighty, so we cannot change them unless allowance is given by the Prophet (sws).
