If a section of muslim society suddenly through something changes the part of sunnah, wouldn’t the ijma break and deen get reduced.
It could happen if some group through any religious argument got or have gotten rid of some part of sunnah.

It never happened and is not likely to happen. Human beings do not do a thing suddenly. If by all means a group agrees upon changing a sunnah, the rest of the Muslim world would refute it. The change itself confirms that it is a change and therefore the unchanged sunnah remains intact.

There are people who say reading quran after fatihah is not a mandatory act. So it’s definitely possible.
