Aoa. I have a 2 weeks recreational tour to Schengen countries. My question is can we eat chicken or fish or lamb from their restaurants. These are halal or not? As takbeer was not said while slaughtering these.

There are several requirements for meat to be considered halal, as far as I know. These include:

1: The animal must be permissible to eat (e.g., not pork).
2: The name of Allah must be invoked before slaughter.
3: The blood must be fully drained.

From my understanding in Shafi’i fiqh, invoking the name of Allah is Sunnah. However, Ghamidi’s view considers it obligatory.

Please take my reply with a grain of salt—I’m just a layman.
