Divorce
Assalamualaikum,
A brother is going through a divorce. According to him if Khula is counted towards 3 divorces then this is his third. He has doubts about his first and second divorce.
His first divorce was few years ago when he didn’t know much about the rulings and he just divorced his wife on a text message, he didn’t check iddah or anything just randomly text messaged her. According to scholars he asked they said it was wrong but counted as “One”. He took her back within a week.
Second divorce, he knew the prescribed period, although he was angry but he knew what he was doing and pronounced it and took it back after 2 days.
Now the wife has initiated the divorce and they have been separated for over 5 months.
His query is if according to Ghamidi Sahab Khula is counted as divorce then is this third divorce?. Does that mean he can’t take her back unless what is mentioned in Quran that she married someone else and if the new husband divorce her naturally without preplanning or if he dies naturally??

According the situation, he has divorced her wife thrice. Now he can’t take her back unless she marries someone else and the second husband leaves her or dies.
