It is said that sunnah is preserved in fiqh books..I want to know that while going back to the sahabas period how is it established that a particular thing was sunnah initiated by the prophet Muhammad the same way as it is now…

I mean, we can look into fiqh books now, and the recent past about sunnah…how to verify whether something was exactly sunnah the same way at the time of prophet….which fiqh book is referred to for that… I mean at least in Ahadees we get a number of narrators(sahabas) that take us to the prophet’s period…what about fiqh. How to detect that no biddat was injected into sunnah or any of its parts immediately after the prophet passed away…do we have any fiqh of sahaba available to verify that..

Sunnah is preserved in the actions of the entire ummah right from the begining. It is documented in the books of Fiqh.

Bidat is it never unanimously accepted and acted upon by the entire ummah.

Please refer to the lecture series Sunnat Kia hai by Ghamidi saheb on YouTube.
