  • Contradiction Between Quran And Science Regarding Earth's Age And Universe Age

According to Quran Surah 41:9–12, the Earth was created in two days, its mountains and provisions arranged over four days (with the initial two days included), and then the seven heavens were formed in an additional two days. This seems to imply that the Earth’s formation took a longer phase than that of the 7 heavens. Given that modern science estimates the universe’s age at about 13.8 billion years and the Earth’s age at about 4.5 billion years, how can we reconcile or interpret this apparent discrepancy between the Quranic creation account and our current scientific understanding of cosmic and terrestrial ages (apparently the age of universe seems to be atleast 3 times greater than the earth)?

The years mentioned in the Quran arent equivalent to the years of our calendar. In count, one year as is meant by Almighty is equal to 1000 or 10,000 years in our calendar.

      This was not the Question.

Science does not assert this with absolute certainty; rather, these are all estimations.

That being said, the Earth came into existence alongside the creation of the skies. Over the next two divine days, the Earth gradually evolved into a more suitable form, while, during these two divine days, the work on the skies continued simultaneously.
