Zakat On Rental Home
Assalamoallikum,
I have a question regarding Zakat on a rental property. I own a home in Canada that I rent out, while I live in a rental unit in Dallas. Do I need to pay Zakat on my rental income, considering that I cover part of the expenses out of my own pocket, in addition to paying property taxes, and that I myself live in a rented home in the U.S.?
If yes what would be the ratio? 2.5%

I wanted to add that the house is on mortgage. The actual rental income is less than the mortgage payment so I have to pay from my own pocket to meet the mortgage payment
