He is quoting those Quranic verses and saying Jesus could have said I just came back by guiding them again when you sent me the second time. But this verse may be referring to all the time since people remained misguided. And Allah didn’t reveal a lot of things in the Quran. He didn’t explicitly say whether the Earth was created round or flat when the creation was portrayed.

See the verse in its context. It starts from verse 109.
يَوْمَ يَجْمَعُ اللَّهُ الرُّسُلَ فَيَقُولُ مَاذَا أُجِبْتُمْ ۖ قَالُوا لَا عِلْمَ لَنَا ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ عَلَّامُ الْغُيُوبِ
It would be about the followers of the prophets after their departure, as the clause: إِنَّكَ أَنتَ عَلَّامُ الْغُيُوبِ which means that the answer of their nations is not known to the prophets.
The same question was asked of Jesus, he replied that same, he knew what he witnessed, and he did not know what his followers did after he died. He does not mention that he corrected them on his second coming and they adopted the wrong beliefs after his second departure.
Moreover, according to the traditions from which the second coming of Jesus is understood, there is no mention that Christianity would return after Jesus would have corrected it.
