Question About Quran
Assalam alaikum, The Quran calls itself Kitab e Mubeen and makes a statement that there is no ambiguity in it. If that is the case then why in the story of Adam (AS) Allah did not say clearly that the “Shajar” that he was supposed to avoid is the sexual instinct of Man as Ghamidi Sahib has mentioned in his Tafseer. Why leave this ambiguity? Is this metaphor found in classic Arabic poetry or literature? Jazak Allahu Khayran.

There is not ambiguity in the Qur’an. But it is price of high literature. So those who want to approach it has to be qualified. The problem with the people is the external stories associated with the Qur’an, which came from unauthentic sources, they mars the clear understanding of the Qur’an. The metaphor of tree being the sexual intercourse is an obvious one. The words family tree in English and Shajra Nasab in Arabic and Urdu indicates the same. When Qur’an used it people should understand it. It mentions that as soon as they tasted it their private parts got exposed. It makes it quite clear what it means. Such matter of sex are always told in metaphor in high literature.
