How can I truly love people—all of humanity? I’ve often heard the phrase, “Hate the sin, not the sinner,” but I want a solid reason, a principle I can deeply internalize—something that helps me love every person.
One idea I’ve considered is: “I will not hate anyone—not because they don’t deserve it, but because I don’t want to keep negativity in my heart.” My heart is bigger than that, and I want it to stay pure. So, to keep my heart free from negativity, I choose to forgive people.
I also remember a video where Ghamidi Sahab said that to control anger, we should remind ourselves that when we get angry at someone, it means we are going against the freedom that Allah has given them.
Another perspective I’ve explored is seeing people as “children of God”—just like innocent children.”
I need a perspective that helps me see someone committing a sin without feeling hatred toward them.

    Thank you.

To have good will for others is what we call love others. It doesn’t mean that one should love them as one loves one’s near and dear ones. One feels hatred for zalim and it is required. We love a person back if he retreats from sins and zulm. There is no such thing in seek that hate sin, not sinners.

So, according to you, what should be the criteria for hating someone in religion? I understand that we should hate enemies of God, like Satan and disbelievers. But after the time of the Prophet, we don’t really know who the disbelievers are, etc.
As for a cruel king, as a student of knowledge, I accept that there is a possibility he might be right—or at least, from his point of view, he believes he is right—even if we have to fight against him.
But I am asking you about hatred, not about fighting or opposing someone, because I believe opposition can be done without hatred.

It is the wrong behaviour: arrogance, stubbornness, which causes hatred. We need not to hate anyone unless something hateful comes up.
