Ghamidi Sahab say that traveh is actually namaz-e-tahajjud and best time to pray is the later half of night, and it is an individual ibadat. So why traveh is offered in makkah and madina. Please clarify

Hazrat Umar made it a congregational prayer when he saw people gathered in the Masjid e Nabawi, and individually, they were offering prayers and reciting the Quran, which made it very noisy. He did not like it and asked the people to offer this prayer with Jamat under one Imam. From there started this tradition of saying Tahajjud prayer with Jamat in Ramazan.
