    Assalamoalaikum brothers,

Due to the reduced places in Graveyards in Pakistan, it is commonly heard that a used grave is opened, remains of the person is placed aside and then new person is placed. This act is completed on more occasions if required. I have heard similar process is followed in famous graveyards of Makkah and Madina.

Is this process considered reasonable in our religion?

There is no restriction or instruction in this regard. After the battle of Badar the bodies of the martyrs were buried together in a big pit.

Yes I understand about Badr and incidents during Hajj – context is different.

So allow me to be more precise, what about males and females are placed into same final resting place?
