Marriage To Someone Who Neglects Prayers
Aoa everyone.
I am divorced 36 year old with a kid who lives overseas. I have no family here and very few friends.
After my divorce I started looking for a suitable rishta for myself because my parents were not doing anything for me.
The guy is exceptional with his ikhlaq which impressed me alot (especially coming from a marriage where husband was abusive). He said he would be a provider and literally has no demands from me. As far as I have judged, he would be loyal, ready to be a father figure for my child, has his own home, has no drug problems and other major red flags. But he neglects his prayers.
Now the scholars say that the one who neglect prayers is a kafir and we can’t marry such a person. And even if we marry, the Nikkah will be invalid and living with such a man is counted as Zina.
I am unable to make any decision regarding this. Please guide in light of Quran and Sunnah.

If he neglects but doesn’t refuse prayer he is no kafir. Make sure you are hear from scholars, and not from pseudo scholars.
You can make him realise the importance of prayer. If he cnfrssws he is a Muslims he will realize its importance.
