  • Is Eid Prayer Mandatory On Women Aswell

I grew in a culture where women never went out for Eid prayers, however I realise that is not what we find in sunnah. My question is, is Eid prayer mandatory for women the same as men or simply desirable ( like juma ).

If it is mandatory, but a women cannot go out for Eid prayer due to an excuse ( maybe very young babies ), should she try praying Eid prayer as two nafl at home ?

https://ghamidi.com/videos/guidance-for-women-regarding-eid-prayers-1969I found this video, it seems to be saying women should go. ( I don’t know how to provide link properly)So here’s what I understand from the two videos:-Any able adult should go ( as in the first video ), Ghamidi Sahab even encourages praying at home in case of covid pandemic restrictions.- It is still a nafl namaz in nature so can’t be classified as farz – Let’s say an able bodied Muslim male decides to not go, will he be blameworthy ? Let us say not a sin but reprehensible?

    – also since it is a congregational prayer in nature, there’s no point in praying 2 nafl alone ( congregation at home would be a separate issue in special circumstances such as pandemic )

I would be grateful for corrections and clarifications in my deductions above!

Attending congregational prayer was never made obligatory for women. However they were encouraged to come for Eid prayer even the menstruating were called on this occasion to participate in dua only. But this doesn’t prove that it was compulsory.
