Hello, I want to ask a question related to inheritance law in Islam regarding male and female children. Islamic law explicitly states that portions of inheritance are awarded in relation to the scale of benefit a kin derives from the deceased. It’s clear that a husband inherits more from his wife because he provides her with financial perks and in return the wife is not required to provide him with an equivalent benefit. So the imbalance makes sense. I want to know if sons are given a larger share compared to that given to daughters because sons have to provide financially for parents and daughters do not. Do sons have any financial obligations or are they just cultural expectations?

It is natural and therefore religious cultural obligation that sons take care of the parents as daughters go to their in laws and sons being men have the responsibility to earn and spend.
