Are playing games such as shooting games permissible in which you play against other people and fight with guns. The concern I have is that they can be seen as violent and often when you are fighting against someone you try to shoot them in the head as it results in more damage could this then be seen as haram since hitting the head should be avoided. Is it permissible as it is just a game and nothing more than that.

If it involves an intention to hurt someone, not just to defeat others, like boxing, it is not permissible.

An example game could be Pubg where you are a soldier and have to be the last one to survive in a Warzone

In the video game, no one is physically harmed, so it’s generally acceptable, except for the potential psychological effects, which may be suggested to be avoided.

Could you please elaborate on what won’t exactly be permissible because even in that game you have to fight against other people to survive it’s like a competition to see who wins. Like is it the violence that’s haram or is it dependent on something else

Violence is haram because one may physically be damaged. In video game nothing actually happens. Therefore it can’t be haram.

Oh I think there was a confusion I was talking about video games form the start not actual shooting, I meant in video games my actual question was about video games that involve shooting.

Basically my concern was that now days video games are filled with stuff like shooting and fighting I wanted to know wether such games would be permissible to play. Sorry for not being clear on which type of games I was talking about

I have heard online that hitting the face is discouraged in Islam. So in fighting games your character often hits your opponents character in the face because of this I didn’t know whether playing such games would be permissible. But since it’s not real life and your not actually hitting someone, I didn’t know wether I was just overthinking or it shouldn’t be played

    See this answer, please:
