@Irfan76 Could you explain the following hadith:

    · Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) took hold of the muscle of my calf (or his calf) and said, This is where the Izar should stop; if you insist, it may be lower, but it should not reach the ankles.” (Narrated by At-Tirmidhi, who said this is an authentic and sound Hadith; see Sunan At-Tirmidhi, 1783)

To lower the lower garments below the ankles was a style of pride and takabbur in the old arabian culture. The prophet advised his companions to avoid lowering their garments below the ankles. In this hadith the prophet applied this instruction.

The lesson is that we should avoid styles of pride and takabbur. This particular style of lowering the garments is not considered now a thing of pride.
