Sports Clothing
My Question is about sports clothing especially about tennis and football. As everyone knows that in these two sports even in the female category they wear shorts but as far as I have listened from alot of ulamas they said wear a shorts in which your knees are visible, that is nor permissible,
What is the view of My professor Javed Ahmad Ghamidi sahb on this perspective?

Dresses for different occasions are different. Sports dress for both men and women are different from their dresses for party and home. To guard private parts is the primary purpose of dress. Thighs are covered because they are adaject to private parts. They are covered as preemptive measure. Because if they are not covered, it can lead to exposure of private parts.
if thighs or knees are not well covered it is objectionable but it is not actually exposing the private parts.

he is not saying that women can wear revealing clothes. what I undersrtood from him, he is saying that wearing objectionanle clothes are not allowed for both man and women. for clothing he said if your knees and thighs are visible that wont be considered a good dress because thighs are part of our private parts so we have to waear an appropriate dress.

Thighs are not private parts but they are covered as preemptive to guard the actual private parts. It is not appropriate to reveal the thighs or knees but it is not amount to revealing private parts. Reveling private parts is sinful and revealing adjacent parts of body is inappropriate.

If knees are covered it is good enough. Below knees is better to be covered. There are stages. To cover private parts is essential. To cover the adjacent parts is preemptive. To cover the whole body is better. In different situations the limits can be compromised.

Jaha tk ma smja hu un k answer se, un ka kehne ka matlb ye ha k aap ka libaas revealing na ho other than that there is no problem and it applies for both men and women. I might have interpret his answer wrong lekin abhi tk yehi smj aaya mujhe aur I think that is correct too, both logically and rationally.
