Almost all mobile games have elements of gacha like genshin impact, arknights, etc.
When you want to get a character in the game, you must pay with real money by passing the gacha system with random prizes (just like the lootbox system in cod games and other fps games). Is this allowed or not?

The principle is if there is an intention of harm to others or actual harm then that thing is haram.

What you have explained about Gacha donot seem to be gambling. Because its all virtual not reality.

Even if you pay money, you are getting a service or a character or item to enhance your abilities in virtual reality.

It is not gambling but it doesn’t allow the freedom of choice, which is inappropriate, but still they give something. The buyer who suffers is not guilty.

But does this fall under the category of gharar?

it seems a form of gharar. But when the player agrees to their terms it is not a blatant gharar but still inappropriate.

Ok thank you sir. But can i ask you why gharar is haram? I know why gambling is haram because we are trying to take someone’s money unethically (in simple terms it is a zero sum game).

Then what makes gharar haram as written in the hadith?

Gharar is deception therefore it is unethical and haram.
