  • Quran 22:78 – Different Conclusions On The Basis Of Nazm-e-Quran Argument

    هُوَ سَمَّىٰكُمُ ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِينَ (Quran 22:78)….

In the light of nazm e quran Javed Ahmed Ghamdi and amin ehsan islahi has concluded that the word “hua” refers to Hazrat Ibrahim who named us muslims…

While Mufti kamran shahzad also quoting the criteria of nazm e quran concludes that this pronoun refers to the word Allah(comming in the formar verse)…in this regard he quotes many verses from Quran to prove his point…and also quotes many ulmas in this regard..

What is your take on this?

We know from the Qur’an that the prophet Ibrahim named his progeny Muslim.

و من ذریتی امة مسلمة لك.

The verse tells the same. The mention of the word kum refers specifically to the Quresh. Min Qablo indicates previous time before the Qur’an. So it was not God who named them Muslim as they were no there but Ibrahim did who while praying for the coming generations named them Muslims.
