History Of Wudu And Fard And Mustahab Portions
In the traditional narrative, wudu is considered as sunnah….few parts or acts of wudu mentioned in Quran are taken as farz while the remaining parts like (cleaning mouth and nose) is sunnah and not obligatory given the circumstances..
In farahi school, wudu was already prevalent in some form since the pre-mohammadian period…the Quran just reminded and re-addressed the sequence of it to define some reservations( like tayamum etc)…
My question is …what is the proof that the wudu normally done before namaz etc is the same prevalent in the Arabian society… couldn’t that be the normal ablution just to keep oneself clean….
And how do you categorise farz and mustahab or sunnah in wudu …..
