    1)I have heard that as a Muslim you must follow the policy you have agreed to and if you don’t you are sinful so for example YouTube doesn’t allow you to download Youtube videos form other sites instead they say you have to download it through our app, so in this case are you sinful if you use another website to download the video instead of YouTube since it’s against there policy. Is this really true? Do you have to follow these policies because sometimes they are very absurd and not in the best interest of the user.

    2) The second thing I wanted to ask about was using fake names or ages online on websites as they often ask you to fill in your first and last name and your age is it lying if you don’t use your real name or choose a random date of birth.

    Anything unethical is not allowed in Islam. One must follow the ethical rules and norms.

    If fake IDs are meant to deceive others, then it is not allowed, if the intention is not to decide others then there is no problem in using them.

    Giving the wrong age is a lie and one should avoid it.
