Is There A Major Sin For Accidentally Causing Harm With Urine In A Bottle?
Assalamu alaikum,
I wanted to ask about a situation where someone threw a bottle (containing a patient’s urine) outside before morning , assuming it will reach a place where trash is usually discarded. But actually fell on the road. Later they noticed the bottle was gone and started worrying like what if an animal or a person somehow came into contact with it, consumed it .., or was harmed by it? The person had no intention of causing harm but is now concerned about whether they committed a major sin if someone was affected or may catch any disease?.
In Islam, how is such a situation judged? Since the action was done without malicious intent but may have led to unintended harm, does this carry a major sin?.. While later they got to know from elders this was not the right practice to do it, the person didn’t think of it… And what should one do if they fear their negligence could have caused harm? They are from Karachi, telling just in case as like many others saying the bottle collectors may have collected it.

It is not done to harm others, therefore it is not sinful. No actual sin is reported so one should avoid imagining bad happenings.
