The Word Khimar
Regarding the word khimar I want to ask that why did Allah say in surah nur use your khimar to cover your bosoms like why khimar why not any other word for covering.
Secondly one could give reply that it was use khimar not put on khimar I think so isn’t quran for all times?
Please explain

The Qur’an used the word khimaar because khimaar was commonly used by women to cover. So he said to put khimaar on your bosom. This purpose is to cover the bosom when it is adorned. This purpose can be achieved if bosom is covered with anything appropriate.
The word is فلیضربن بخمرھن which means yo put their khimaar on their bosom.
Qur’an wants its readers to use their intellect, find the reasoning and apply the directives.
