    My q is ;

    I came to know first that kurbani is fardh that I had to do it : so I decided to do kurbani and made intention and was even looking for an animal, I had one in eye which I liked and wanted to buy it, but then I came across a friend who said it’s only fard for the people who went on hajj . But then later here in this platform I read that it’s a sunnah and in both cases it’s a sunnah and not fardh.

    Now I had already made an intention and looked for an animal I liked and wanted to sacrifice. But after knowing now this is not fard, should I stop and not do it?

    Will I be sinfull now if I jisy don’t do it at all?

    Or should I fulfill my intention I already made?

    Jazakumullah khair.

    Despite its being nafl, its importance is not less as it a symbolic representation for sacrificing everything for God.
    If you are capable, its better to do it.

      So if I am.somehwat capable and I made a firm intention for Allah, then I should not.stop even of others tell me don’t do.it?

      Like others are advising perhaps u should do a ram.or.dheep it’s cheaper but my issue is I already made an intention, a firm one for Allah, and I said it aloud as well .

      In such case. What the best decision in islam?

      My q is ;

      what if I already made a firm intenion for Allah and said it even in words affirming it to Allah, and at the same time people advising me not to do or do something like a sheep or spend less money, and I am somewhat capabale of doing the kurbani.

      In this particular case; should I not carry out my firm intention?

    Thats my own opinion.

    If you had strong intention of doing sacrifice and has means because of God then I think its better to offer sacrifice because you already made intention.
    In case you had intention but you are not capable, God will reward you for even that inshallah.

    Now, if you back down and you have means to sacrifice to save money then no one can tell what will be God decision for you. Only God knows.

    You have to make your decision.
    I will request @Irfan76 sb to give his scholarly opinion just to be sure.

    Islam addresses all the faculties of humans. The legal point of view is just not enough to be a good Muslim, who has a strong personal bond with God. Qurabni is a nafl worship. It doesn’t mean that now one should not do it. If You have an intention to do it you should go ahead. But legally your are not bound to do it. God doesn’t need your qurabni but he sees what you do to show your relationship with Him and how you value His directive whether they are compulsory or voluntary.
