  • How Can Two Tafsir Views On Adam’s Creation Be Reconciled ?

    Asslam o alikum ,

In your tafseer on Surah An-Nisa (4:1), you stated that Lady Hawwa (Eve) was created from Prophet Adam (peace be upon him). However, in your explanation of Surah As-Sajda (7–9), you mentioned that some people had already been created at that time, from among whom Allah chose Adam and Hawwa, instilled human nature in them, and made Adam a prophet. These two interpretations appear to be different from each other.

Moreover, the Qur’an seems to clearly indicate that Hawwa was created from Adam after many years they didn’t were made at the same time and in surah sad (38:75) it’s clearly mentioned that Allah made adam with his own hands . Kindly clarify how these two interpretations can be reconciled?

Ghamidi saheb did not state that Eve was created from Adam.

    He states

The actual words are:خَلَقَ مِنۡهَا زَوۡجَخهَا . If they are interpreted in the light of the following verse of Sūrah al-Naḥl: وَ اللّٰهُ جَعَلَ لَكُمۡ مِّنۡ اَنۡفُسِهُمۡ اَزۡوَاجًا (72:16), they can only be translated in the way they have been above. There is no need to translate them as “from it” or “through it.”

there is no mention of Eve was made many years later, in the Qur’an.

‘Allah created Adam with His own hands’ doesn’t support the point that Eve was created from Adam.

    The creation of the Eve

So Allah made Adam with his own hands sura saad (75:85) how will that support the explanation of surah sajda (7-9 ) ?

Making with hands is an idiom that means God created Adam with special care. The whole process of Adam’s creation is included in the word ‘created him with His own hands’.
