    I know you shouldn’t reveal your sins hidden by Allah to someone else but does this apply to scholars or other people who you might need guidance from regarding that sin. For example someone ask a scholar advice for a sin they have done in the past however to ask that advice they would need to tell them the details of what they did

    Genuine exceptions are always considered excused from the application of principles. This is one of those genuine exceptions.
