This concerns the sensitivity one has towards their beliefs and the respect shown for the Companions of the Prophet. If both partners can acknowledge and respect their differences, they can live together harmoniously. Islam permits marriage with Christian and Jewish women, despite their theological differences being greater than those between Shia and Sunni. However, if either partner is unwilling to accept and accommodate these differences, the marriage is unlikely to succeed.
