Salam. For student visa, a mandatory bank statement is required. Normally, a student seeks help from the visa consultant or some investor to deposit an amount of 70/80 lac rupees in his/her account for a duration of 2-3 months and the investor/consultant will charge a certain amount ranging from 5 to 10 lac against that deposit. Is this comes under riba/sood? Is it permissible or not?

Payment of an interest is not an issue here, which is not prohibited from the borrower’s perspective.
The issue is that this arrangement involves deception and fraud, which is immoral and prohibited in Islam.
