If the non muslims were not allowed to live permanently in Arabian Peninsula, then how non muslims were allowed to live permanently at the time of Prophet (PBUH)? If non muslims , at that time, lived permanently there giving Jaziya, why can’t they live in there permanently nowadays giving tax? Please help in increase my knowledge! thank you!

The Jews and Christians were living in Arabia before the time of the holy prophet. Initially, they were allowed to live there after paying jizya; however, the Holy Prophet had asked his followers to expel them from Arabia. Hazrat Umar finally moved them from Arabia.
