I heard a scholar online say that we shouldn’t call food bad since having food is a blessing from Allah and calling it bad is being ungrateful. To me this doesn’t make sense calling something bad doesn’t mean you’re not grateful for the food. If something is truly bad and doesn’t taste good why can’t you tell others to avoid eating the same thing. Similarly if someone asks me how was your food and I say I didnt like it how is that ungrateful a person can like and not like something similarly something can taste good or bad commenting on it doesn’t mean I’m not grateful to Allah.

If food is bad or you didn’t dislike the tastezl, it is a matter facts, nothing to do with ungratefulness.

To be ungrateful is to refuse something out of arrogance.
