Discussion 86370 • Reply 86537In this discussion it is stated that matters of Sadd e Zariya can be waived if the illat of the directive has vanished. If I’m not wrong being alone with a non mehram should be avoided on the principle of Sadd e Zariya so if one feels that the fear of adultery is not present could it be tolerated as you often have to be in situations where you are alone with a non mehram like when driving a car and having a non mehram as a passenger or in office environments where you might have a meeting with a non mehram in such instances there is no fear of adultery so if I understand correctly they can be tolerated. On the matter of whether the illat of the directive is still present or not it is up to you to determine that right? So for example if I feel that being alone with a specific non mehram cannot possibly lead to adultery could I consider that a valid reason to not follow Sadd e Zariya in that particular case?

To be in a car with a non-mehram or an office is not usually complete isolation. The doors are not closed and someone can enter anytime. So, one can see that the prospects of falling into some immoral are small. Therefore, one can sit there with a non-Mehram. The person in the situation is the best judge to decide.
