If a woman becomes a widow and wants to remarry while having children, what are the guidelines regarding custody and living arrangements? Suppose the new husband accepts the children, and the mother cannot bear to be separated from them, but the children’s paternal family does not allow her to take the children with her.
Who holds the greater rights in this situation?
And if the paternal family’s rights are considered stronger, then why does the Quran encourage widows to remarry? Allah knows best how difficult it is for a mother to be separated from her children. -
