It is said that sunnah is transmitted through ijmah and tawatur (generation to generation) and this tawatur should start from the prophet’s period or sahabas period……To academically verify this ijmah we must refer to the fiqh books (belonging to present, mid and the earliest period) to exactly know if the presently established sunnah shares the same status in mid or in the earliest period…and to check if any of the biddah is not transmitted with great flowings (the fiqh book will pinpoint the starting date of biddat and reject it as sunnah)..

When we talk about fiqh book, my question is which are the earliest fiqh book, closer to the sahaba period, which can exactly tell us about the status of any sunnah in the sahaba period….

What are the sources which clarify that the presently established sunnah had the same ijmah in the prophet’s or sahabas period and no biddat is included into it after the demise of prophet Muhammad (s.a.w)….

This has been discussed in detail in the program series Ijma and Tawatur.

Tawatur is initially and essentially found in the actions of the ummah. The books of fiqh just record them. The whole ummah agrees upon certain actions to be religious rituals transmitted to them from the former generations. It is not possible that the whole ummah agreed upon them when there were some differences in the past. All the books of Fiqh find their reference in the previous books. There is no difference in the content of Sunnah among the books of fiqh. They are the same in recording Sunnah.

No bidah can be universally accepted by the whole ummah as sunnah.
