Wearing Shorts That Uncover Part Of Thigh
aslamalaikum,I understand that awrah that which is the real sin is showing your private parts,and you should cover the part near the private parts,but the application change for situation to situation,for example with my genuine conscience I believe that the part of the thigh should be covered. My real question is can I wear shorts that are long enough, I don’t think they cover my entire body, more than half my thigh, but obviously during prayers I don’t pray in shorts, obviously I’m before God. I can wear shorts regularly, even for sports, ?
but I cover up during prayer.

You can wear shorts. Till knee is recommended because it makes sure that exposure to private parts is minimized to a great extent. However, exposure of thigh is not something absolutely Haram. In circumstances where such exposure is happening, make sure private parts are properly covered.

@Umer25 Sir, what about underwear such as thongs worn by bodybuilders during competitions to show off their muscles? Or bikinis worn by Western women at the beach?
I know these are not clothes for everyday use, but they are only worn in certain situations and places. Is it a sin to wear them in certain places and situations?
