Not Living In A Joint Family & Taking Care Of Parents
I currently live with my mother and wife in my late father’s home. My elder brother is settled in Australia with his family, and my younger brother lives in Canada with his family. As you can imagine, the dynamics of a joint family often bring challenges, and I am experiencing those difficulties myself, which are affecting everyone around me.
I wish to live independently with my wife and children, just like my brothers do, while still ensuring that my mother is cared for. Due to her health, long flights, and Canada’s harsh weather, my mother does not travel to Canada. Instead, she usually visits Australia, where she stays for about six months before returning.
Given this situation, what would be the best way forward for me—to balance my own family life while continuing to take care of my mot
her?
