Born Without Our Consent
I have a friend who is an atheist, and he told me that we were born without our consent. So I said to him, ‘No, we weren’t born without our consent. Basically, when we were about to be born, we were asked whether we want to come into this world or not, in a sense.’ He then said, ‘Alright, but if that’s the case, why don’t we remember it?’ I replied, ‘Look, when we were infants, like two or three months old, we don’t remember what we did back then, but we still believe in those things even though we don’t recall them. Similarly, this is the case with that question of being asked before birth. We don’t remember it, but that doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.’ Then he said, ‘So when I was a child, my mind was weak, and I couldn’t remember things. Now that I’m an adult or a teenager, my brain is stronger, and I remember things. So, does that mean that when this huge decision was made for us, our minds were weak?’
