  • Reciting Quran In The State Of Janabah

I have found a strange contradiction in the traditional literature where it is said that it is permissible to recite the Quran while a women is on her menses but a man or women in the state of janaba (sexual defilement) cannot. Is there a difference in the level of impurity of both states ? I would like some understanding of the matter in the light of the Farahi school of thought?

I understand and I am very grateful for such a concession given to women. This does beg the question though, u can technically start fasting as a junub( take ghusl before praying fajr) but u cannot start your fasting even if u are in the end stages of your menses. This makes it sound like being a junub is a lesser state of impurity. Now that I think about it, can someone please explain the concept of ritual purity, is it something a Muslim should endeavour to be in unless necessary or something to achieve before approaching prayers?

There is no restriction on reading or reciting the Quran in the state of impurity, whether related to Janabah or menstruation.
