    Assalamo alaikum warahmatullah.

Ghamidi sb once said that the natural disasters are only there so Allah can combine death. Can anybody elaborate on this topic or give any evidence?

    Jazakallah khairan

    Wa alaikum assalam warahmatullahi wabarakatuh!

Javed Ghamidi’s statement suggests that natural disasters serve as a means for Allah to take human lives, which is an integral part of the natural order.

    Here’s an elaboration:

In Islamic theology, death is an inevitable part of life, and Allah has appointed a specific time for each individual’s death (Quran 3:145, 6:2). Natural disasters, such as earthquakes, hurricanes, or tsunamis, can be seen as a means for Allah to execute His decree regarding human life.

This perspective is based on the Quranic concept of “ajal” (appointed time), which emphasizes that every living being has a predetermined lifespan (Quran 6:2). Natural disasters can be viewed as a manifestation of Allah’s power and authority over human life, reminding us of our mortality and the transience of this world.

While there isn’t a single verse that directly links natural disasters to combining death, some Quranic passages suggest that Allah uses natural phenomena to execute His decree:

    – “And We send the winds fertilizing, and We send down water from the sky, and We give it to you to drink, and you are not the ones who store it.” (Quran 15:22)

This verse highlights Allah’s control over natural phenomena, which can be seen as a means for Him to sustain or take human life.

    – “And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient.” (Quran 2:155)

This verse mentions various forms of trials, including loss of lives, which can occur through natural disasters.

In conclusion, while Javed Ghamidi’s statement might seem unconventional, it reflects the Islamic perspective on death and the natural order. Natural disasters can be seen as a means for Allah to execute His decree regarding human life, reminding us of our mortality and the transience of this world.

    Jazakallah khairan for your question!
