Contradiction In Surah Baqarah Verse 286 Regarding Shariah Of Allah
God says in verse 285 that he does not burden a soul more than he can bear but in the very next verse God states a prayer in which the person is requesting God not to put a burden more than he can bear. Isnt this conflicting ?

The first portion of Verse 286 is a general statement regarding Shariah of Allah for human beings.
The second portion of Verse 286 is about seeking protection of God from a special punishment implemented on previous nations because of their rebellious attitude.
“And Lord! Do not lay on us a burden such as You had laid on those before us.”
This burden refers to the overly strict directives of the Jewish Shariah which became part of it because of the arrogant and rebellious attitude of the Jews. They became a wrath of God to them when they were not able to bear them.
