What’s your take on the following scenario?

A person who doesn’t want to bear arms (carry weapons) on behalf of the United States and doesn’t want to perform non combatant services in the armed forces of the United States because of his religious beliefs and moral/ethical code but ends up taking full oath of allegiance during naturalization so that he can become a US citizen. Should one stick to his principles and risk his chances of being naturalized or it’s ok to take full oath considering he can’t be drafted in to the military because he doesn’t fall in 18-25 age group.

One can take the oath with good intentions and under the assumption that such carrying of weapons would be for a just cause. When the situation arises and he/she is certain that a particular cause is not just or is immoral for which he/she is being drafted, then he/she should take a stand and also be ready to face the consequences. The way Muhammad Ali took the stand and faced the repercussions as well.
